Magazine Media, which is responsible for Sanoma Media Finland’s magazine business, renews its organisation and operating model to support growth with new multi-channel business models. Due to structural changes 34 positions are reduced in Magazine Media. The actions taken now conclude the target group driven organisational renewal that started in spring. The changes include the reorganization of editorial offices into theme specific teams in the three content units (Women, Family and home, 55+) and centralising the graphic design to theme area specific design teams, among others.Due to structural changes 34 positions are made redundant in Magazine Media. Five persons will be offered a new position as an alternative for lay-off. The changes were handled in the co-operation negotiations that took place from 1 September to 13 October.“We will now renew our entire way of working in order to serve our core target groups; women, families and the 55+, and we will build a multi-channel portfolio that is based on the first-class lifestyle contents. Unfortunately the new structure also means that we cannot provide work to all our current employees. We support the persons made redundant with a support package that helps them over the difficult situation,” says Kaisa Ala-Laurila, business director of Magazine Media.Magazine Media will inform about its new organisation in more detail during next week.Additional informationCommunications Director Hanna Johde, tel. +358 40 673 8977
