Malmberg, the largest Dutch educational publisher in primary education, is planning to sell its educational magazines Bobo, Okki, Taptoe and National Geographic Junior to Blink Publishers.

Blink Publishers was founded in August by the present publishing director of Youth Publications Jorien Castelein and Joachim Driessen, former CEO of Malmberg. Malmberg will remain involved with Blink, amongst others by various forms of strategic collaboration.

Malmberg is the Dutch market leader in teaching methods and materials for primary education. The unit 'Youth Publications' with the magazines mentioned above has made a repositioning in the past years, which has lead to new, cross media concepts that enthral and bound children. The new Okki and Taptoe were introduced in 2009. People are very positive about these new concepts.

Blink will not only take over said magazines, but also the pockets ("Boektoppers") for secondary education. Nearly all employees of Malmberg Youth Publications will change over to the new organisation as per 1 September. Castelein will remain in charge.

Malmberg is part of Sanoma Learning & Literature, a division of the Sanoma Group.
