The Metro free sheet will once a week include a financial news page written by the journalists of the financial news site Taloussanomat.fi. The page is a summary of the news found on Taloussanomat.fi, and it made its first appearance on 13 May. Both Metro and Taloussanomat are part of the Sanoma group.
"Consumer news items related to personal finances suit Metro's reader profile better than pure financial news," says Janne Kaijärvi, Editor-in-Chief of Metro.
Taloussanomat is continuously seeking new partners from within Sanoma and outside it.
"Taloussanomat is already engaged in close content co-operation with the tabloid Ilta-Sanomat. We have co-operated with the Finance pages of the daily newspaper Helsingin Sanomat in corporate analysis, and Helsingin Sanomat will soon publish a few stories dealing with the personal finances of readers. In future, we will deliver varied, tailored finance and technology content for other media as well, both electronic and printed," says Juha-Pekka Raeste, Editor-in-Chief of Taloussanomat.
Metro and Taloussanomat.fi are both published by Sanoma, which is part of the SanomaWSOY Group.
