Movie theatre operator Finnkino's multiplex in Vantaa, Finland is getting ready. In autumn 2008, the new movie theatre will open its doors and bring a top quality movie theatre experience first time in the greater Helsinki area. The multiplex will be part of an entertainment centre Flamingo, which will offer services related to exercise, wellbeing, entertainment as well as location for meetings and congresses.

"The location is excellent for our new multiplex and it will complement our existing theatres in the metropolitan region. We want to offer an easier movie experience by bringing the movie theatre to a place with good connections. It will be possible to come to the movies by car – we will provide the free and easy parking opportunities," explains Timo Mänty, President of Finnkino.

The audience of the new movie theatre multiplex is expected to come from a wide area. In addition to excellent service, the new multiplex will put special emphasis in fulfilling needs of different customer groups, such as families or corporate customers. The multiplex, scheduled to be open in September 2008, will have 6 theatres with 951 seats.

Finnkino has expanded rapidly both in Finland and the Baltic countries, where it has multiplex theatres in Tallinn (Estonia), Riga (Latvia), Vilnius and Kaunas (Lithuania). Both the Balts and Finns are record movie goers: In 2008 so far, Finnkino has already had over 2.2 viewers in its theatres, equalling 25% growth from previous year.

Finnkino is part of Rautakirja, a division of the SanomaWSOY Group.
