Sanoma Budapest will today publish the first issue of the Hungarian edition of international magazine Marie Claire. The target group of Marie Claire is ambitious, modern, self-confident, and open-minded urban female readers, aged between 25 and 49, who value quality and content. The 224-page magazine will be distributed in 40,000 copies at the introductory price of HUF 499 (EUR 1.98).

Marie Claire with its thought-provoking, inspiring yet entertaining, sometimes humorous articles is the magazine for independent, open-minded and stylish women. The magazine's rich and colourful content is to appeal to women who are socially aware and modern, yet fashion-and-beauty-conscious. Marie Claire is for the woman of substance with an eye for style – someone who plays an active role in the modern world around us. Main pillars of the magazine are beauty care, fashion, culture, and public life. Editor-In-Chief of the new glossy is Ildikó Békési, an expert with several years of experience in editing women' magazines.

Marie Claire will organise tree planting in Budapest and in nine other Hungarian cities on Earth Day, April 22nd, as a proof of its commitment to social responsibility. Civil organisations working together with the magazine, actors/actresses, celebrities and media stars will join the initiative and plant trees in the capital and the county seats, sometimes as part of the local Earth Day event.

Marie Claire magazine is planned to be a strong pillar of Sanoma Budapest's women glossy portfolio, along with Cosmopolitan, present on the Hungarian market for almost 10 years.

The publication of Marie Claire Hungary will reinforce the successful partnership between Groupe Marie Claire and Sanoma Magazines which already publishes Marie Claire in the Netherlands and Marie Claire 2 Accessories in Belgium.

Hungarian Sanoma Budapest is part of Sanoma Magazines, the magazine division of the SanomaWSOY Group.
