Rautakirja has established Rautakirja Russia as of 1 November 2007. Rautakirja Russia has the operative and development responsibility for both press distribution and press retail in Russia.
General Director of Rautakirja Russia is Ruslan Grigorjev, who is responsible for the operative business. He reports to Kalvar Kase, Country Manager of Rautakirja in Russia. The joint business will be supervised by the Board of Rautakirja Russia. The Board consists of Rautakirja's CEO and President Erkki Järvinen, Senior Vice President for Kiosk Operations Markku Pelkonen, and Senior Vice President for Press Distibution Raimo Kurri.
During the last 10 years, Rautakirja has successfully expanded its business internationally. Currently 34% of the turnover is generated outside Finland.
"Our biggest growth potential is in Russia. For the moment, we are in both press distribution and press retail only in the beginning of our expansion in this market. Our aim is to become a significant press distribution andpress retail company in Russia, which requires a lot of work. Our plan is to grow both organically as well as through partnerships and acquisitions," says Erkki Järvinen, Rautakirja's CEO and President.
