Antti-Pekka Pietilä Resigns from His Position as Senior Editor-in-Chief of Ilta-Sanomat

Ilta-Sanomat's current Senior Editor-in-Chief, Antti-Pekka Pietilä, resigns from Ilta-Sanomat and from his position as Senior Editor-in-Chief as of September 25, 2006.

- The Senior Editor-in-Chief is responsible for circulation and market share development of the newspaper. Since the development has not reached the set targets, I have agreed that I will resign from my current position, Pietilä says.

According to the SanomaWSOY Corporations Corporate Governance principles, the Board of Directors of SanomaWSOY approves the appointment of Senior Editor-in-Chief of Ilta-Sanomat. The Board of Directors of SanomaWSOY will have its next meeting according to its normal meeting schedule on September 25, 2006.

Ilta-Sanomat is part of Sanoma division of SanomaWSOY.
