Ilta-Sanomat's supplement Plussa will be upgraded as a weekly magazine as of February 2004. The contents and appearance of the magazine will also be renewed.

Ilta-Sanomat will be the first in Finland to combine a tabloid and a weekly magazine edited in the same rhythm.

- After the launch, Ilta-Sanomat will offer a wider reading package for the weekend when people have more time to spend. The new Ilta-Sanomat Plussa is an easy-to-read magazine for every Finnish family, says Ilta-Sanomat's Editor-in-Chief Antti-Pekka Pietilä.

The weekend circulation of Ilta-Sanomat is about 200,000 at the moment. As of February, the weekend edition will consist of three parts: the newspaper, the sports supplement IS Urheilu and Plussa magazine. The price will remain in EUR 2.

The launch of new Ilta-Sanomat Plussa continues the reform started with the sports and sports betting weekly IS Veikkaaja in 2002. In the beginning of 2004 also IS Veikkaaja's supplements will be renewed to a magazine format.

Iltasanomat and its brand extensions are published by Sanoma, a newspaper publishing division of SanomaWSOY.
