Sanoma Uitgevers b.v. intends to start a reorganisation of its company in Hoofddorp. The Works Council has been asked to present its advice. Organisational consultants McKinsey & Company will be advisors in the process.

The reason for the reorganisation is, given the present economic situation, the need to reduce the level of fixed costs by € 15 million a year and the desire to increase the company's commercial efficiency. The current structure of the company does not allow for the pace of development, which the management finds necessary for a healthy future.

In line with these points, it is expected that some 5 to 8% of the current 1500 jobs will be cut down.

Sanoma Uitgevers is a part of Sanoma Magazines, a division of the SanomaWSOY Group. Sanoma Uitgevers b.v. is the biggest provider of infotainment on the Dutch market with leading magazines in many market segments, such as Libelle, VT Wonen, Donald Duck, Panorama, Cosmopolitan, Beaumonde, etc.
