Finnkino started taking advance bookings for 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' a couple of weeks ahead of the premiere in Helsinki last Friday, and virtually all the seats at the various Finnkino cinemas it opened at were sold out.
A total of 14 copies out of the record 65 copies of the film distributed across the country have been booked for Finnkino cinemas. The film attracted 98,000 cinemagoers during its first weekend, of whom 35,610 saw the film at a Finnkino location.
The next box-office success is expected to be the 'Lord of the Rings', which will premiere in Finland on December 19. Advance bookings will be taken from December 3 onwards.
