Sanoma Corporation, Press Release, 28 January 2015 at 15:00 CET+1

Sanoma Learning’s subsidiary Nowa Era in Poland acquired the rights to the portfolio of educational materials from Polish School Publishers PWN (Wydawnictwo Szkolne PWN) for grades 1 to 12 in primary and secondary education. Net sales for the acquired products totalled above EUR 2 million in 2014.

The agreement excludes language learning materials and materials for kindergarten.

Nowa Era will incorporate the educational materials from Wsz PWN into its own portfolio and will offer the combined portfolio to schools in 2015, in line with the requirements of the Educational Act.

The combined list offering will strengthen Nowa Era’s leadership position in primary and secondary education. It enables teachers to choose textbooks written by outstanding authors from Nowa Era and Wsz PWN, and published in print and digital format by educational experts from both companies.
