Sanoma Corporation, Stock Exchange Release, 17 June 2015 at 13:00 CET+1

Heike Tyler, a member of Sanoma’s Executive Management Group since 2012, will leave Sanoma on 30 June 2015 because her business unit Sanoma Media Russia and CEE ceases to exist.

As part of its strategy to focus on its core operations, Heike Tyler has successfully led the divestment of Sanoma’s media operations in eight countries in the CEE region (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine). In addition, most parts of Sanoma’s Russian business have been sold. The sale of Russian daily financial newspaper Vedomosti to Ivania Ltd and the Russian magazines of United Press to Moscow Times LLC were announced in April 2015. These transactions have been closed. The sale of Russian publisher Fashion Press was announced in December 2014. The completion of the Fashion Press transaction is pending regulatory approvals including the Government Commission on Monitoring Foreign Investment in the Russian Federation.

"Heike Tyler has contributed very successfully to Sanoma’s focus strategy by restructuring and divesting Sanoma’s businesses in Russia and CEE”, comments Harri-Pekka Kaukonen, President and CEO, Sanoma. “As her job is completed, it is natural for her to move on. I want to thank Heike for her great co-operation and very valuable contribution to Sanoma under challenging market conditions. I wish her all the best for her future career."
