Sanoma Corporation, Stock Exchange Release, 11 April 2014 at 16:30 CET+1

Sanoma plans to reorganise the Dutch magazine distribution operations as part of the strategic redesign communicated on 31 October 2013.

Aldipress, the Dutch magazine distribution and trade marketing company that is part of Sanoma, will further concentrate on its commercial activities for publishers as well as retailers. At the same time the company intends to close down its logistics centre in Duiven and outsource its logistics and transport activities to Media Logistics. The company concluded that the intended measures have become imperative, given the expected continuation of the decline of newsstand sales of magazines in the Netherlands.

By outsourcing the logistic and transport streams to Media Logistics, Aldipress envisages more efficient and sustainable logistics in the magazine distribution value chain. The focus on the commercial activities allows Aldipress to continue adding value to the magazine portfolio of publishers and strengthening the magazine product category in retail.

Aldipress will discuss the proposed measures in a consultation process with the workers council. The closing of the logistics centre is estimated to lead to around 130 redundancies. A social plan will be discussed with trade unions in the upcoming period.

Aldipress expects to be able to finalise the closure of Duiven as well as the transition to Media Logistics by the end of 2014.
