At the award ceremony of the European Comenius-EduMedia-Award 2013 in Berlin, Malmberg has received three awards. One for the Optimal Digital teaching methods, one for the practice software of Taal actief and one for the geography method Humboldt. The Comenius-EduMedia-Awards are presented annually to organizations that develop progressive multimedia European educational products.

With Optimal Digital, Malmberg introduces teaching methods for secondary education where teachers themselves determine the balance between books and digital teaching materials. Depending on how digital a teacher wants to teach and the ICT facilities at school, the new teaching methods offer different packages: from 100% digital to 100% paper.

Humboldt is a compact, innovative geography method for secondary education that is different from all other geography methods. Humboldt reacts on current events and teachers can customize the assignments if they want to. The method is primarily web-based, making it possible for schools to work 100% digital. It is also possible to work in combination with books.

For many years, Taal actief has been the most widely used language and spelling method in primary education. The practice software is unique because the exercises are set out at the right level automatically, so that pupils can follow their own learning path. The software gives the pupils tailor-made help, which enhances the learning efficiency.

For the third time awarded
Malmberg has received Comenius-EduMedia-Awards before for its e-methods and the Word trainer Apps for English, French and German. Hans Prins, publishing manager secondary education at Malmberg comments:

"It's very special that we have now been awarded for the third time in a row. Of course we also hear from teachers, school managers and students that our learning materials make learning more effective and more fun, but these awards are for us an extra confirmation. It's a strong recognition of our vision on education and learning materials. We are very pleased with these international awards".

This year Malmberg received the awards from Prof. Dr. Gehrard E. Ortner of the European ‘Gesellschaft fuer Paedagogik und Informationen E.V. '.
