Sanoma Corporation, Stock Exchange Release, 17 May 2013 at 9:30 CET+1

Dick Molman, 59, has announced his resignation as CEO of Sanoma Media Netherlands and his departure from the company as of 1 January 2014. He has been working for 38 years for VNU and Sanoma, of which the last seven years as CEO of Sanoma Media Netherlands.

Sanoma has announced the search for a successor, who should be appointed later this year.

“In general, I believe that any CEO seat requires new blood after a certain period of time to get a fresh perspective. On top of this, the last seven years have been very intense. That's why I am now looking for a new work/life balance. It’s definitely not easy resigning from such a great company, but I believe this is the right step, both for myself as well as for Sanoma,” says Dick Molman.

Sanoma President & CEO Harri-Pekka Kaukonen comments: "Dick has played an important role in bringing Sanoma where we are today: a broad and leading media house that is increasingly setting the tone in the Dutch media landscape. Sanoma is grateful for Dick's contribution. We have now started the search for a successor who will have the management capabilities that a transformed Sanoma is requiring. One of the key tasks will be to continue a thorough portfolio assessment to make sure that we build Sanoma on cherished brands that are able to excel in a multi-channel and digital media landscape.”
