For the second year in a row Vedomosti.ru, the news portal from Russian business daily Vedomosti, was awarded 'Information site of the year' at the ROTOR 2009 competition.
The Russian Online Top (ROTOR 2009) competition is conducted by the International Union of Internet Agents YEZHE since 2000. Vedomosti.ru shared its first place with Yandex.Novosti, a news information portal. Other competitors were RBK and BFM.ru.
In ROTOR 2009, Russian and foreign websites with Russian as their primary language or Russian as one in a host of auxiliary languages are competing. The main goal of the contest is showcasing significant figures and meaningful internet projects. Another important goal of the competition is identifying trends in the Russian internet domain. Being named a winner of this contest is an honourable sign of recognition from the community of internet professionals.
