Sanoma's Board of Directors has today appointed Timo Mänty, M.Sc. (Econ.), 48, as President of Rautakirja Corporation, Head of the Sanoma Trade division and a member of Sanoma's Executive Management Group. Currently, Mänty acts in Sanoma Trade as Senior Vice President, Movie operations and Managing Director of Finnkino Oy. Mänty will begin in his new position on 1 January 2009.
In his current position, Mänty has worked since 1996. Previously he has worked in the company between 1990-1993 as Vice President in Suomalainen Kirjakauppa (bookstores) and Director in Press Distribution, among others.
In addition to his career in Sanoma Trade, Mänty has worked in Hartwall Ltd as Senior Vice President, marketing and Exports as well as Managing Director of Mallasjuoma Oy and in various marketing positions in Unilever Finland.
Erkki Järvinen, the current President of Rautakirja will start in his new position in Tikkurila Oy as previously announced. Tikkurila has announced to that it will apply for listing in Nasdaq OMX Helsinki during the first half of 2009.
