Welho, the largest cable TV operator in Finland has since August 2006 had over 300,000 connected households in its network. Welho is also expanding its operations outside its own network, which will make Welho's cable TV service available for new customers, thanks to IPTV technology. Welho aims at reaching 500,000 households in the Helsinki metropolitan area by the end of 2008.

At the moment, some 75% of the apartments and 60% of all households in the Helsinki metropolitan area are connected to Welho's cable network. The number of connected households has increased substantially over the last couple of years due especially to growing popularity of digital TV and broadband internet connections, both offered easily by the cable network.

Welho is part of the SanomaWSOY Group's electronic media division SWelcom.
