Werner Söderström Corporation of the SanomaWSOY Group is to acquire Docendo Läromedel AB, a Swedish publisher of IT-books and interactive educational products. The net sales of the company amounted to 84 MSEK in 1999, and its workforce numbers 60. Docendo is headquartered in Stockholm.
Docendo intends to achieve strong international growth in the sector of interactive educational products. WSOY's Finnish IT-book publishing subsidiary Teknolit Oy and Docendo will start close co-operation with focus on developing interactive e-learning products and concepts.
The personnel of different organisations can acquire versatile skills in the use of office software by learning based on cd-rom and intranet products; Docendo will launch the internet concept during this year. The technological concept for interactive learning developed by the company will permit production of other content and customised applications on this platform in the future. The technology will later be licensed and marketed to other content producers.
