The consolidated pro forma result for 1999 before extraordinary items and taxes increased by 13% to FIM 656 million (EUR 110 million) and earnings per share improved from FIM 11.19 (EUR 1.88) to FIM 12.68 (EUR 2.13). Operating profit was FIM 426 million (EUR 72 million) compared with FIM 424 million (EUR 71 million) in 1998. Net sales improved by a good 5% to FIM 7,852 million (EUR 1,321 million).
SanomaWSOY will release information on its financial statements on 15 March 2000 at 1.00 p.m. The sub-group Rautakirja Oyj has published a release of its own financial statements for 1999. SanomaWSOY's annual report for 1999 will be published during week 14.
